Brown, creamy white head, lightly hopped, sessionable
Gerste Lager was 53% of the Heineken Brewery’s production in 1911. We are making this historic lager for the Historic Beer Festival in St Louis this spring. A very sessionable mild lager with lots of malt flavors and just enough hops to balance out the sweetness of the malts. Imagine drinking this in a local pub in Holland in the early 1900’s, you get the picture!! Prost!
Great with sausages and pickled veggies or sauerkraut. Or try it with a rich roast of beef or chicken, it’s light enough to refresh any heavy meal. Enjoy.
